Located in Castro Valley on a farm in Crow Canyon, directly between Castro Valley and San Ramon.
We are an 11-minute drive to Castro Valley BART and a 10-minute drive to Costco in San Ramon.
Half Day Enrollment is now open and Accepting Applications until 5/24/2024.
Families interested in applying may submit an application to be considered.
Ages 3-6 years old. All children must be potty trained. However, students who are potty-trained at 2.5 and can stay with the group and carry their own backpacks will be considered.
Forest School
Our class is held outside 100% of the time. We are a Reggio-Emilia-inspired Forest School meeting on a 15-acre wooded piece of land, on a 85 acre farm. We focus on allowing children safe ways to socialize with peers, explore nature, and develop in an emotionally and physically safe environment.

At Emerging Sprouts, every cohort of students is unique, and we tailor our curriculum to the group's interests. At Forest School, we lay the groundwork for social-emotional safety and free play in nature our teachers take note of the group's interests. Students pick topics to study. Many of our classes over the years have studied nature or things having to do with nature because of our environment, but we have also studied things like cars or bridges; every class is different.
We allow children to choose which activities they wish to participate in, and students are our school naturally learn all the Pre-K skills they would gain at a comparable indoor preschool and more while they are enrolled with us at Forest School.
