Castro Valley Afterschool Teacher

Forest School's Afterschool is a great way for students aged 5-12 years old to have fun outdoors. As a teacher you will lead the group in games, hiking, taking a break for snack, and group leadership. The school year program includes Forest School activities, hiking, playing games and getting to know your group. Students hike, build forts, play in the creek, observe bugs, and explore nature when in Afterschool Forest School. The afterschool teaching position is approximately 30 hours per week. Candidates must hold valid teaching credentials and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in the age group they are applying to teach.
Teacher position:

Thursdays: 3:00-5:00 PM
Wednesdays: 3:00-5:00 PM
Emerging Sprouts merges the child-centered Reggio Emilia philosophy with the Forest School philosophy. Emerging Sprouts Forest School creates a safe in-person education centered around the interests and needs of the children in our small classes.

Forest School's Afterschool is a great way for students aged 5-12 years old to have fun outdoors. The school year program includes Forest School activities, hiking, playing games and getting to know your group. Students will have the opportunity to hike, play in the creek, observe bugs, and explore nature every day.
Internships are offered for Fall, or the Full School year

Cincinnati Summer Camp 2026 Teacher
Forest School’s TK program offers a unique bridge between preschool and kindergarten through hands-on, outdoor learning. As a teacher, you will guide children in play-based exploration, support social-emotional development, and help integrate their indoor classroom learning into meaningful, real-world experiences in nature. The program includes collaborative projects, nature exploration, and daily routines that foster independence, curiosity, and confidence. Students explore the forest, observe wildlife, engage in creative play, and build foundational skills through hands-on learning in a supportive outdoor environment. The TK teaching position is approximately 30 hours per week. Candidates must hold valid teaching credentials and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in the age group they are applying to teach.

Forest School’s Kindergarten program deepens learning through exploration, collaboration, and project-based experiences in a natural setting. As a teacher, you will guide children in inquiry-based learning, support social-emotional growth, and help connect their indoor academic skills to real-world experiences outdoors. The program includes group projects, nature exploration, and opportunities for children to think critically, problem-solve, and build independence. Students investigate, design, observe wildlife, and engage with the natural world in ways that foster confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for continued learning.
The Kindergarten teaching position is approximately 30 hours per week. Candidates must hold valid teaching credentials and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in the age group they are applying to teach.

Forest School’s Cincinnati Summer Camp offers children a joyful, immersive outdoor experience rooted in exploration and play. As a teacher, you will lead groups in nature-based activities such as hiking, creative play, water exploration, and hands-on projects, while supporting social-emotional growth and group connection. Campers spend their days exploring the outdoors, building, creating, and engaging with the natural world in a fun and supportive environment. Candidates must hold valid teaching credentials and have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in the age group they are applying to teach.
